im planning on buying an 87 NA that i test drove yesterday.. i forgot to look at the title and was wondering if there are any give aways to what trim it is? i was under the impression that it is a base model because its not turbo and it doesnt have that gay suspension adjudstment thing from the interior... the seller told me she had it repainted and i just now realized that it could be a GXL, in which case it would already have an LSD! now the wheels were stock 5 lugs and the seller never changed anything, also, it has a sunroof.

anyone know for sure what model it is?

 

It's a ........ SPORT! Not a GXL if it doesnt have AAS, also does it have a little black wing on the back? Because if it does, then it is definately a sport.

 

yeah it has the little black wing.. anything i should know about the sport models? man.. had my hopes up!

 

IMO a sport is better than a GXL, its lighter, and has the 5 lug wheels, plus the most functional wing out of all the stock FC wings.

 

Many people consider the Sport to be the best 2Gen made. It should have an ugly black plastic spoiler, some black aero pieces by the wheel wells, and 5-lug wheels.

BTW, the LSD and AAS on any car this age is probably shot, so I would not necessarily consider those items a plus unless they have been recently rebuilt or replaced. Both items may cost more to fix or replace than you paid for the car.
