Noisy rats nest

89 FC S5 T2....

With the key in the on position (and the engine not running) there's lots of clicking coming from the rats nest. Sounds like a solenoid going nuts, or a mechanical fuel pump making noise (do these even have those?). Is this normal?

I've heard of the the turbo duty solenoid clicking on and off like that. You can test it if you're worried about it not working right. The solenoid works with the ECU as an electronic boost controller.

Everything seems to run fine. It's just noisy. How do I go about testing it?

I removed my rats nest, and with the key on my car makes noise. I just thought it was the fuel injectors, because it stops when I pull the egi fuse.

Don't worry about it, if it's not broke then don't fix it.

I figured.... Just didn't want it to become broke, caused by whatever was making the noise. I'm not really concerned about it.

What really bums me out, is three days after I bought the car, the AC went out, and the car started idling poorly. The Idle I'm pretty sure is due to a bad plug, as the owner has no idea when he last changed them.... ugh... I love the car because he didn't do anything to it, but he also didn't do anything to it.. ya know?

The A/C appears to be a leaky hose coming off the compressor. We shall see.....
