Hate to say it but probably a TPS problem. I've had it in the past. Engine idles fine but flooring the pedal had NO effect at all. A sticking TPS plunger will do that. How to fix? Maybe some electronic switch cleaner from Radio Shack or??????

It looks different on an S5. Since you didnt specify which engine you have its hard to say. In both cases though it faces the front of the enigne off of the throttle body. The S5 version has a wedge that looks like a throttle arm that runs against a switch and a push button switch like the S4's.

Im not certain on this, so dont take it as gospel, but instead somewhere to start your search.
IIRC there are a second set of throttle plates on the secondary runners that are designed to stay closed when the engine is cold and they open once the engine warms up. This is to prevent you from beating on a cold engine. that may be your problem.
Someone else verify or add to this?
