LOL, what the hell kind of answer is that. "sorry dude ur car is breaking down" Even worse he said Thanks after that....HAHAHAHA

Trailing plug is not firing, check your plug wires and the plugs and everything before the wires. And who cares if your Tachometer isnt working, either buy a new one OR just drive without it, as long as you know what gear you're in and if you can hear your car you shouldnt have a problem.

uummm yeaa^^^If ther is no tach that means the trailing is not firing which i believe =limp mode. I need to know some of the reasons for the causes of a non firing trailing ignitio system. It works at start-up for a min then just quits

CAS could be no good. From the crank angle sensor it goes back to the computer. start from there

The likely hood of the cas failing is low and i do not think the car would even run.

There are three wires from the Trail Coil assy to the ECU. Pin 1M, 1U and 1X. The FSM gives a value for each of these when the car is idling. Its in the FUEL SECITON of the FSM. Subsection called Control Unit.

You should check continuity of each of those wires from the ECU to the coil assy plug and check each for a short to gnd when both ends are disconnected.

Another thing that CAN cause it to not work, but isn't probable, is if the coil assy has been moved from it's stock location and not bolted back to the chassis with a clean, paint free location. The reason for this is the ignitor in the coil assy gets its ground from mating the coil assy chassis with the car chassis.

P.S. if it's in the stock location, don't waste time and effort adding additional gnd wires to the coil assy. A waste of time.

1X is the trigger and should read 0.8vdc at idle.

1U is the Select signal and should read approx 2.2 vdc. It Selects which of the two trail plugs fires at a given time.

1M is the Feedback signal and should read below 2vdc. I beliece I read approx 1.30vdc at idle with a fully warmed up car.

The FSM also shows how to ohm out the CAS coils FROM the ECU. And which of the four wires are which. If memory serves, they should read out at approx 110-210 ohms.

It really wasn't a answer at all. I know him and his car is pretty bad ***. He has been having problems with it lately.
