NO Spark.... Help!
Here it is bought this 87 Turbo for 200.00, friend couldnt get it started.
I changed the plugs and it fired up, made the standard adjustments, all was well.
Fired up many times with no problems.
Then the T2 **** the bed, Turns over but it wont start.
Problems that were present before start problem
1)I had to depress the clutch pedal 3 to 6 times before it would start.
2)Warning center is dead in middle of top dash
3)Boost gauge does not come up to zero or move at all.
4)was a flood car about 8 yrs ago and 3 owners ago.
5)Security system light always blinked
--------------------------------
Problems after car would not start
1)I put a timing light on each wire , no current prsent while trying to start.
-------------------------------
I tested the following and got a pass for each.
Leading and trailing coil/ignitors.
Crank angle sensor
battery - New
Pulsation dampner
Wires and plugs - New
My feeling is that its the Control Unit due to lack of spark.
I have a 88 GXL and do all the wrenching.
Whats your diagnosis?
Thanks for your input!
