Big brake kits for 4-lug

In the latest Import Tuner they start working on a Suzuki Aerio. They use a Wilwood Big brake kit off of a Civic... I know my SE uses the same bolt pattern as a Civic because my wheels came off of one.

Has anyone tried to use those Honda brake kits on their cars? I think the only mod would be a new caliper bracket adapter.

Sorry about the long post, but if I can get a four lug brake kit it would save me money over replacing my 17" wheels again.

There's really no need. The stock brakes are actually pretty good (even the single piston) and are much better than those found on any Honda. Get yourself a set of good pads (Axis Metal-Masters) and some slotted rotors and I guarantee you that the stock brakes will suck your eyes out...

yeah, especially with the 5 lug (4 piston caliper) brakes going on so easily, I can't see spending beaucoup bucks on an aftermarket solution..

Edit:

Didn't see that part about the 17" wheels. Still, the stock singles aren't bad either, the fastest ITS car in our region uses 4 lug single piston brakes..

All RX-7's have single piston calipers in the rear. The only difference is some models have vented rear rotors, some have solid rear rotors.

You don't need giant brakes in the back - the front does the majority of the work.

Yeah, the back brakes just lock up b/c of the rear suspension design. That's why GXLs have the rear shocks go to full stiff when you touch the brake pedal - keep the back tires from jacking off the ground.

Hey man, run a search. I started a thread about this exact subject, using accord/civic brake kits on my RX7. People told me to do the Five lug brake kit, but take the rotors, and re drill the hole pattern for the four lug in them. It'll weaken the rotors a lil bit, but its supposidly fine. That way you have inexpensive four lug, four piston brakes.

If you REALLY want a big brake upgrade, contact Paul Ko @ K2RD on his Wilwood upgrades.&nbsp The Stage I kit is priced rather nice compared to stuff on Corksport!

The stock 4-piston fronts does a real good job with the right set of brake pads.&nbsp I'd be surprised you're fading them unless you don't know how to drive...

I haven't faded the brakes or warped the rotors yet, but I'd like to have the 4 piston setup or a selection of vented or cross-drilled rotors available to me. I am an early apex driver and have traditionally had bad luck with single piston setups. Granted, all of the cars that have died on me have been heavier 300zxs and supras.

Is there a way to mount the four piston calipers on my strut and use a set of Brembo rotors for the 4 lug setup? What is the diameter of the turbo rotors? Are they larger than the 4 lug SE rotors? If so, how much larger?

There is already a selection of cross drilled and slotted rotors available to you. See http://www.mazdatrix.com or http://www.rx7.com

I know the good rotors are available. My question is: Will the 4 piston calipers from the TII fit the 4-lug rotors or is there a diameter diffrence?
