I believe the CPU controls those lights, dash lights, as well as the idiot lights to name a few things. You should check the CPU for bad solder joints, fried resistors, charred board, et cetera.

Doubt its the cpu.....its a common problem....the connector that plugs into the switch if you look at it you should see couple of the pins might be corroded or burnt. The connector is located in the cluster surround assembly on the lower left side....if my memory is correct. Good luck with it.

Please read the FAQ for FC at the top of this section before posting. Your question is covered in there.

The problem is a burnt headlight switch and harness, you will need to replace them.

That would be incorrect. The CPU does not control any lights but the Key hole lights, brake lights, turn signals and warning lights (all of which he said were working fine).

It does not control the headlights, parking lights.

Please do not post if you do not know the correct answer.

Well, happy turkey day to you too!

Sometimes the intolerance on this forum amazes me. It is not like I am post *****, I have what 170 some posts. I was trying to help the guy, that is what this forum is for, I thought.

No, there are too many people posting simply made up answers like that.

You are not trying to help if the guy goes and wastes his time resoldering the CPU or money (if he buys a CPU) and it in not even closely related to the problem. That is not "trying to help the guy" at all.

And you are right, the other mods and myself have absolutely no tolerance for answers that are clearly wrong when the correct answer could be found so easily.

same exact thing happened to me.... I accidentally put the lights fuse in the ABS slot in my old GTU even though it didnt have ABS. Check the fuses in the engine bay again just to make sure they are in the right place.
