no oil pressure

monday somebody cut me off causing me to fish tail and slam into a curb which really threw off my alignment and maybe bent some things. i noticed yesterday that my oil pressure stays under 30 and the day before it was normal, around 60 at 3k rpm. i am premising about 1oz per gallon. does it matter if i have no oil pressure now. my omp was already going out due to codes etc but what would cause it to drop that much in pressure in one day? i am lost. maybe i shook something loose when i hit the curb? i did hit it really hard

Premise, you mean premix?

Premixing has nothing to do with oil pressure at all sense the oil and intake are two completley different systems.

sorry to bump in but,
my car factory gauge says i have no oil pressure, but is capable to drive. is my sender bad. i was under my car yesterday and look to see if something wasnt hooked and the wiring is hooked up but i found a hose that came out of the oil pan (it looked like a bleeder, is that correct).

does it matter though if i am premixing, i would think that if i am premixing that i wouldn't need oil in there anyways, right?

lol if your premixing you still need oil... still need to lubricate the e-shaft and gears

and check to make sure your oil pressure sender is pluged in to the guy that has no oil pressure

my oil light has been on for a long time and i have not added any oil (someone told me that i didn't need to since i was premixing) would being low on oil cause it to go from normal oil pressure to under 30 overnight. doesn't make sense to me that a loose sensor would be causing it, it either works or it doesn't if it is disconnected or loose. any other suggestions. i am at work until 2pm so am trying to get any suggestions of what to look at when i go home. oh also i looked and see no oil leking under the car

Yeah, you will hose your motor if you run low on oil. Premix is only for the rotor housings. Everything else still needs oil. Rotory's aren't like two strokes which oil there parts with the same oil used in combustion.

that's where i was confused.

another question
my car has been throwing a code 34 i think it was for a while which reads out oil metering pump.... does that mean it is bad???

i am still getting good psi numbers, if my omp was bad i should be getting no oil psi right? what else could this code mean?? thanks

if the code is for that i'm under the impression that means the unit is malfunctioning.

your oil pressure doesn't have anything to do with oil metering pump, though. the oil metering pump sends oil to the rotor housings, the same reason you're premixing. there is a main oil pump under the front cover. the main pump is what makes the pressure that your gauge cluster reads out.

you should check / replace the oilpressure sensor if it's flaking out (drivers side of engine under filter) it's a brassy drum shaped thing screwed into the block... at least on my 88 it is.

replaced the sensor last night with a used one and works fine right now, i was a little low on oil too. problem fixed. ...... so the main oil pump is what oils everything besides the rotor housings. man i learn something new everyday.

It even oils the rotors when the OMP is working correctly. The OMP isn't so much a pump as a oil distributor for the rotor housings.
