no oil consumption?
Hey this is my first post. I am a proud owner of a 91 n/a 5 speed and a 93, 5 speed. Luv em both for different reasons.
My question is that i have heard a number of times that it is normal for the rotary engine to consume oil. But my 91 always reads full on the dipstick. Even after 2500 miles since the last oil change it still reads full. The car has 88,000 miles on it and it has done this since new. Is this OK or does my engine have a potential problem that I need to get fixed.
Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts on this, it really puzzles me.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. If it does bother you though you can check out you oil injector pump to make sure it is working properly. Im really not sure what procedures you have to go though but you can find it in a factory service manuel.

If you're that worried about it, and the car is running fine, then start adding some premix when you fill up. Then, when it starts to give you a REAL reason to tear it down, check out your oil injectors and Oil Metering pump.

It all depends on your driving habit. I have a '90 vert w/ some mods. I notice if I drive the car hard, I consume 1 to .5 a quart every 2.5-3k miles. If I drive it nicely, it would only consume .1 to .3 of a quart.
