no low end power and some running difficulties

on my 10AE, i put in a jspec engine and it runs pretty well. i'm dealing with a few issues though and perhaps they're related. the first is that the idle is around 1500rpm. the second is that the engine is slow to rev until about 2500rpm. after that everything is fine and i have good power up to 7K when i shift (when accelerating hard). the final problem i'm having with it is that when im cruising (at any speed) when i let off of the throttle the engine doesnt coast down as i feel it normally should. its like in an automatic when you let off of the throttle, it holds at the speed for a second or two and SLOWLY coasts down. i noticed a fuel leak at the rear rotor's primary injector yesterday and pulled it apart, and i'm just replacing all of the o-rings and grommets on all of the injectors today. i have a new set waiting for me. i am at this time not running an air pump but do have the acv installed. it is a stock exhaust minus the split air tube which is broken off of the main converter. thank you in advance for any help!

also to ad since i can no longer edit the original post, i have an exhaust leak between the first cat and the pipe that connects the first cat to the main cat. not sure if this info will be helpful. i'm used to dealing with first gens, as this is only my second second gen and i'd realy love to get this car up and going. i did drive it yesterday and it was a blast!! (until that damn fuel leak)

Hmmmm. I'm no expert (I hope others will chime in), but a few things come to mind. As far as the high idle, I'd first check to see if the fast idle cam is releasing properly, then I'd unplug the BAC valve and (Air Bypass Valve - not sure if present on a turbo), maybe remove them and block the air passages in case they're stuck. Before this I'd probably check for vacuum/boost leaks. Hope this helps.

thanks for the help. i do have a BACV. as far as vaccume leaks go, i dont think i have any, as i replaced all of the vaccume lines when i replaced the engine but once i get it going again tody i can always double check with a trusty can of starting fluid. fast idle cam.... not a bad place to start....

got the car up and running with *crosses fingers* no fuel leaks. still a little slow to rev to 2500rpm, not as fast on the acceleration as i feel it should be (but has lots of great power and starts quickly every time) and the idle is around 1200rpm. i tried adjusting it at the bacv and it made no difference which way i turned the screw, the idle did not change one bit. found no vaccume leaks and. i am going to try and fix my exhaust leak tomorrow. its up close to the turbo. i know the turbo is tight against the manifold and the first cat is tight up against the turbo, so i'm going to check the manifild to block nuts.
