A possible source

In this thread

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/1st-gen-carbon-fiber-hoods-559184/

in the 1st gen forum, Rotorhead34 says he has a source for custom hoods. Possibly the same source would do lids.

I don't remember getting any PM's from anyone about this. But yes, I represent 5one5 Innovations and we are going to make a full out CF trunk lid for the vert. But prior to actually doing this we would need to see definite interest and people that are willing to put down deposits. However, if there are enough people here that are interested then we will be more than happy to make this happen sooner rather than later. So start sounding off in here or you can PM me or email me at Zach@5one5innovations.com

I was commin ghere to flame you for wanting CF headlight covers or bin covers("lids" could be many things) Which would be stupid as it would be purely asthetic an and a little ricey. I forgot completely about the Vert and it's trunk.

I'm interested, but before committing, I'd like to know:

1) price

2) weight (am I saving enough to justify the price?)

3) finish (smooth or the CF textured look)

We don't have a price because we haven't made the first one. That is something we'll have to work up after Mael gets back from his honeymoon. The weight savings will be considerable. If our sunroof panel is any indication, then everyone should be very happy with the weight savings. We went from a little over 10 pounds on the stock steel FC sunroof to just over 3.5 pounds with our fiberglass sunroof.

These trunk lids would be 100% bolt on replacements. So there would be no worries of having to custom fabricate anything to use this on your car.

Juiceh, I know you're in for one bro.

Would everyone be alright with a 35% deposit up front? This of course would be after we have a set price and pictures available. Let me know what you all think.
