The ECU (engine computer) gets and sends all it's signals using low voltage circuits. As the car ages the grounds get weak. The weak grounds drive the ECU nuts.
Start by replacing the bell housing to firewall ground.
Then add a ground on each side of the engine to the body.
As other questions come up, check the sticky threads at the top of the forum, or try the search at right just below the banner.
I have a copy of the Factory Service Manuals on a link below in my sig.
Happy rotaring..

Flooding can be caused by leaky injectors, poor compression, or other causes. This is an EXTREMELY common thing for these cars. Do a search, you wont be disappointed!

The RX-7 tends to flood if you start it, run it only a short time, and shut it off while still cold.
Leaky injectors can cause flooding even if it's warmed up when shut off.
Maybe give it a double shot of injector cleaner with the next fillup.
