Ok well when i went to advanced they told methat it has one but that they didnt have a book to look it up so in telling me that it was a dealer part so i have no clue and i have checked all of the plugs , lights and fuses?..... what to do?
umm... there is a fuse/relay fuse on the engine bay fuse block on s5's that handle the dash lights, and security system. i think its 2nd from the driverside on the fuse block. probably a 30amp?
[edit] or do they call those "fusible links?"

Get a meter out and see if the voltage is coming out of the plug.
Unplug the switch and see if the contacts are melted inside.
If the interior dash lights are not working, but the exterior parking lights are, that rules out any fuse as they are on the same fuse.
But it is common to have the dash lights or parking lights go out with the other still working, if the plug at the back of the light switch is melted or damaged internally.
