no gas cap on 87 na will it run ok

wanting to buy 87gxl for the four pot calipers, guy in tow yard says it runs but when you step on it seems like it is running out of gas. Sounds like one rotors out, but checked fuel door and no gas cap . any affect on normal operation ? I assume it is a pressurized fuel system. any help would be appreciated. David

nope. Fuel pump sucks fuel and pressurizes it into a line. The fuel cap just keeps fuel from escaping to the atmosphere. The fuel cap will flow air into the tank. Think of the problem that would occur when you sucked out gas and no air went into replace it. Your problems lies elsewear, such as a blown motor, or a really clogged cat.

The fuel tank is not pressurised and not having a cap will have absolutely no effect.

The missing gas cap with cause you to blow up if you throw a match out the window or ash your philly blunt.

Sounds like no compression in one of the rotors then. Think ill buy it anyway $150 not bad for the two pot aluminum calipers and vented rotors on all 4 corners for my GTU. And all those spare parts!
