NO fuel to front rotor. Checked everything.

I've discovered while trying to start my rebuild that my front rotor is not getting any fuel. The weird thing is, the front had been getting fuel up until a couple a days ago. Ive checked all the wiring and the injectors, I even reversed the injector wires to see if it was the wiring. When the front injector wire was on the rear rotor the front rotor still didnt get any fuel.

Any suggestions?

Definitely one of two causes then...

1. The injector is bad.

2. The wiring is messed up.

What year RX-7 do you have? Depending if you have an 86-87.5, some wiring you could be failing in your resistor pack. I've seen it happen once.

Have you double checked the compression of your front rotor by the way?

I have an 88 Tll, and I havent checked the compression accuratly because I cant get it warmed up.

The thing that is confusing me is the fact that it was getting fuel at first but now it seems dry. Are there any fuses that I could check that would be causing this?

If a fuse went bad, it would affect both injectors. I seriously think it has to be some wiring issues or a faulty injector. Good luck with it though.

I would definitely check your grounds (especially the injector harness ground). See the archives to find info on it, everything you need to know is here.

My real question though is: How are you really determining that one rotor is not receiving fuel?

Determining wether or not it actually has fuel is another grey area. I am just going on the wetness of the spark plug and the spray coming out of the wholes when I turn it over with the trailing plug out.

Is there any way to check the ecu and see if it is sending the signal to the injector?

i had the same problem yesterday, my mistake was that i had the wrong injector plug connected to the wrong injector so you might want to check that out

He did say that he moved the bad ones up front to the rear and they still didnt work. So the fuse would have nothing to do with it. The injectors probably need to be replaced or chase the wiring harness to make sure it isnt cut, frayed etc. If it is then replace it.

Reverse the wiring?
Do you have a stand-alone EMS and not the stock ECU in there?

That diagram is on the Haynes manual. Also in the FSM.

Anyway, listen to the injector with a stethescope/screwdriver while someone cranks the car. Does it click? You should heard a distinctive clicking sound as the solenoid moves the pintel up and down. You can also use a 1.5 V battery to activate the injector. I have seen them burn out before.
