No EFI and the factory tach

I did a search and found very little. What I need to know is how to hook up the factory tach.

Im running a carbed setup with a first gen distributor setup on my S4. No EFI or nothing in use. I'd like to use the factory tach and was wondering how to hook it up to the first gen coils.

Anyone care to explain?

There should be an unused plug that use to plug into the factory trailing coils right near the brake master cylinder. That plug will have a yellow w/blue stripe wire in it. That is your tach signal wire. Hook that wire up to the -(negative) side of the 1st gen trailing coil. That should get your tack working.

Beat me to it. I'll just verify that it works (I'm running a Dizzy with coils on mine).
