no clutch pressure

Yesterday i came home parked my 86 n/a and went inside. i came back out like 3 hours later and went to push my clutch in and there was absolutely no pressure. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is? I was thinking it was maybe tranny fluid but i jacked it up and checked it and it was fine...idk what the deal is. Any help would be great. Thanks

I have the same problem, except i have a pretty good idea of what it is... ironically i was going to make a post just like yours to ask some advice aswell.

my clutch pressure died yesterday. i can regain pressure by pumping the pedal a whole lotta times, but it will de-pressurize right after i shift gears. i am pretty sure it is the hydralics in the clutch.... is it an easy enough job to repair and replace for someone with only basic mechanical aptitude, or am i better off bringing it in to a mechanic? is this problem even the hydralics?

theres probably a leak in your clutch master cylinder, fill it back up with brake fluid and pump the pedal until you get pressure. You will need to keep doing this until the leak is stopped. This happened to me at school and i had to call my friend to get me some fluid because i couldnt get into gear

Bleed the clutch. Bleed until all the nastly looking fluid comes out and no more air is comming out. If you get to the new liquid and you're still seeing air, you either fucked up or you have a leak.

Most likely you will get alot of air out of it as well. Air (and maybe water, but not really) is the only reason you lose pressure in a hydraulic system. Be it from a leak, or improper bleeding, it's unsafe to drive a car when the hydraulic systems are not functioning properly. You could run into the problem of not being able to get it out of gear.

Get a buddy to push the clutch to the floor when you have some pressure while you stand on the drivers side of the engine bay and watch the slave cylinder. After it pushes forwards on the leaver going into the clutch, it shouldn't slink back. If it does, bleed it.

Mazdatrix sells rebuild kits as well as full CMCs and CSCs.

They are easy to replace. The Master bolts into the firewall with 2 screws and the Slave bolts on top of the tranny with 2 screws (you don't need to take the tranny out).

You'll need to rebuild your clutch master cylinder. There are some simple diagrams online witht he process for doing this. It can really be done over a few beers time.

Good luck with your clutch!...

P.S, pump it if you loose pressure

couldnt it be the pressure plate also? i just rebuilt my slave and master because it was doing this, it was fine for like 2 weeks now it does it again, but i also have the factory clutch with 130000 miles on it and it slips like hell.

No.

Mine is doing the same thing. Internally the fluid is bypassing the piston, therefore not building proper pressure. Its still doing it after a rebuild.

New ones are cheap enough, I just decided to give it a shot. Now I am just gonna replace both Master and Slave to make life easier.
