Ok the guy rebulding me a stage 3 engine suggested I put a straight pipe because my aftermarket cats melted. Hes gonna put a silencer that connects to the air tube or something like that. My question is, will I get more power out of a straight pipe?

 

I replaced my cats with a straight pipe and presilencer. Its a lot less restictive without a lot of noise. There is a slight power increase, but if you take a stock RX-7 and the only mod you do is replace those cats with straight pipe, you probably won't notice the difference in power. But every little bit helps when you add all the mods together. 1 or 2 hp here, 3 or 4 there...... you get the idea.

the engine blew and poured alot of gas and basically blew flames out the back and me (idiot) was about 40 minutes from home and noticed my car had no power so I put my flashers on and drove 30 mph down the highway and got flagged down by some people saying your cars on fire. I said WTF and noticed I had blew flames coming out my exhaust. I guess im lucky the car didnt blow up or catch on fire. haha
