And where did you come up with this information? What experience do you have with nitrous on a rotary application to be making such statements?

Thanx for agreeing. The amount of BS about Nitrous in this thread amazes me.

Indeed. I researched Nitrous for about 4 months before I decided what to do, and even then I learned more and decided to go a different route. I just don't see where all the mis-information comes from. Common sense dictates that if you use a power adder with more fuel it is safer in our application than that same power adder without the fuel being added.

If fuel was so bad to add to the engine, then why are there such things as adding larger injectors and bigger, higher flowing fuel pumps? Why would someone run a RRFPR? Geez

my ONLY reason for the push on NX is that the holley solenoids kept clogging on my friends cars. we still have yet to experience that problem with the NX kits......?????? I don't know why. We all get our Nitrous from the same place. i also believe that they flow more. But that's just my paranoia that i've purchased the best product.

what if u dunt want to run a 300 shot, is ZEX or VENOM good for a 100 shot? I was looking to get some nitrous, but didnt want to worry about pressing a button, and praying that the motor wont pop. I saw a ad for a zex computer controlled kit 999 bucks with a free PDA (dem mini laptops) to control it. good deal?

Zex and Venom are both dry, and should never be used in power levels above 50 horsepower.

100 is too high for stock injectors.

Any nitrous system should run nitrous filters. Brand makes no difference, it is just fluke. This is another reason why nitrous has such a bad rep, as the solenoids get stuck in the open position, and continue sparying even when the throttle is cut (no fuel). Kits are never near complete enough.

As for flow... NX and Holley both make levels of solenoids to suit every need. Price for NX is usually higher, and NOS makes more accessories, so I don't see any reason to push on NX. I don't know who needs more than 1000 hp from a nitrous solenoid, as NOS is able to support. Why puch solenoid flow in an area its unneeded?

Not to bash NX or anything, they're almost identical to NOS brand. That's all I'm saying, don't go one way or the other.

Scathcart, (Just a little clarification on your second to last post) You have already proven you know what your talking about. But some may not realize what you were meaning.

Venom and ZEX are good for well over 50 shot. You just have to up grade your injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail, and so on.

For those that have not done the research.

Rule of thumb, MOST stock fuel systems can support a 50 shot of Nitrous Oxide (dry). But you need to do the math to be sure. When you go up from 50 you will have to modify the fuel system.

Excuse me when I say Idiots!

This is why you need to have first some common sense and then a little bit of know how before you start to play with stuff like Nitrous Oxide.

The NX system is an excelent system. If you will notice they said (a badly-installed Nitrous Express kit ). Only a kit installed by a total dumb butt would end up doing this. (There are rare occasions where something like that may occure even if the kit was properly installed, but it isn't likely.)

"they had TWO pressure release vents on - instead of one - which doubled the emergency release pressure."
These bottle can only handle so much pressure before they blevy.

I don't know who they had install it but they deserve a real butt kicking.

That is good to hear. I did'nt know how hard it was to do somthing like that? but if its a Proper Muppets Trick then its all down to geting it installed correctly.

I started panicing when i saw that (even though it said it was a faulty install) it was a case of what happens if i have a dodgy valve or if somthing in the boot hits it, BANG no rear end!!.

So its a one of. Cool

That would be an improper setup. Never happen if you follow instructions, not to mention common sense.

Scathcart- I have a NX wet kit on my T2(jetted for 50) and havent had any experience with any other kits, so wont advise to which is best , BUT--how beneficial is a purge valve? Should it be considered a necessity?

Necessity? No. There's a lot of other things I'd put ahead of it (vent valve, vitrous pressure gauge, fpr, nitrous filter, I can go on... However, it does offer much more of a "hit", and you won;t have the bog when you push the button.

Scathcart in the future i plan on running a 75 shot (ZEX dry) and i am getting 550cc injectors can my fuel pump handle that? Or should i upgrade my pump? Will a turbo pump work? Im just wondering if i need to go with a walboro pump or not etc. Im trying to figure out how to *safely* run the 75 shot(using the 550cc injectors)

Upgrade your pump.

And I'd seriously consider going wet... Piggyback computers are not the way to go with such a finicky fuel system such as ours.

What if one of your injectors isn't perfectly clean? There is no real benefit to running dry in a system over 50 hp.

And who rated this thread 5 stars? This thread is so full of crap it reminds me of the time I fell in a manure pit.

When I said DRY, I meant DRY. Don't correct me with wrong information.

http://www.zex.com/store/merchant.mv...tegory_Code=NX

Zex's fogger nozzles only have one feed, meaning they only jet in nitrous. The computer adds the fuel via injectors. They even say on their webpage that they are a DRY kit.

http://aeiperformance.com/venom_nitrous.htm
Venom kits also come with a computer (albeit a very advanced one), and only run single foggers. Again, they only offer DRY.

This is the kind of Bullshit I'm talking about in this thread.

VENOM AND ZEX ARE BOTH DRY KITS ONLY! If you don't believe me, do some research, or call and ask them.

Do you even know the difference between a dry and a wet kit? A wet kit mixes the nitrous and fuel manually into a fog. A dry kit jets in nitrous oxide, and adds the fuel via a piggyback computer through the stock injectors. Thus, there is no fuel added directly with the ntirous to make it wet, making it DRY.
