Nflow in S4

Wondering if anyone has a Koyo Nflow radiator in an s4 (i know its made for s5). Was there a water pump upgrade needed or was there a need for the E-Fans? I know that its thicker than stock so the shroud is going to have to be modified or an efan. looking to see what people have for set ups. I will probably be running samco hoses once everything is set up as well.

you cant use the stock fan or shroud. Stock water pump is fine.

I do not have that setup, but I do know the taurus alternator upgrade and a good e-fan like black magic is common.

Villager fan setup fits real good on an NFlow.

I have the N-flow on my s4. I opted to do the Villager fan. Fitment is very good. It's a PITA to modify the s4 radiator brackets, but can be done; I'd suggest obtaining the s5 brackets to simplify things. The Villager fan can fit as good or as poorly as the time you're will to put in. Most of the jobs I've seen posted on here are pretty sloppy...if you spend the time trimming then test fitting, using AC foam strips to seal the edges, etc. you can have a near flawless fitment. Forgive me because I didn't really take any final pictures of my edge trims and foam sealing (I spent several hours getting a perfect fit so I was ready to be done). However, you can get the idea of how nice it fits. Yeah that's my whole idea is to completely seal off the radiator. Top and bottom and then make a custom skid plate from aluminum. Then find a way to port for the airbox i am designing. But I need to fully prepare for everything before I get started because i don't want any issues thank you for the patience advice. My **** retentive nature causes me to seek perfection. But sometimes I need to be more patient

K so same idea new question. I know the N-Flow is dual pass. But would there be any big advantage for me? It's going to run me almost double after shipping and then buying S5 brackets. I was contemplating the drop in S4 Koyo. Not sure if I mentioned that I do NOT track the car. I just need to replace it and flush/refill the coolant system. I am hoping that in doing so I won't have any issues on long drives. Hoping to do 3 different 6-8hr (12-16hr each trip) drives and I don't want overheating or any issues. I currently plan on eventually doing an engine swap. Realistically wouldn't happen for a few more years ( out of college and debt ).

SO summary:

Do I knuckle up and go N-Flow or do I just get the Koyo single pass and call it a day.

I can see a small problem.

Unless the NFlow is designed for the S4 then you are going to lose the Sensor at the bottom of the rad.The S5 NFlow does not have the hole to put the sensor in the bottom of the rad as it doesn't require it.

Pucker up the "**** retentive nature".I ran without this hooked into the rad when I put an NFlow in the car.Just placed the sensor off to the side, out of view.

Did you happen to do a handy write up? I would love to have something to guide me. I have never done anything like this before, your set up looks mint! Also, is there a shopping list I can use? Such as sensors/wiring anything additional to the S5 brackets, radiator, and villager fan? (also what year for the villager)

I went with the S4 Koyo for the fact you just swap the sensors and brackets from the old rad. Easy as pie. Cools great compared to the stock plastic POS. Plus the n-flow has the ugly filler neck.

Your bay looks great! On your intake partition, what did you make it out of and what did you mount it to? I am looking to do the same with my HKS filter. Also, did you run a vent into it?

I made it out of sheet metal, I mounted it using the mounting location for the stock air box. And use to Rotary Performance Headlight vented cover.

What about water? I was going to do the same but I didn't want. Water to be splashing through the vent into the filter

If you really want to get "fancy",look up www.Sneepspeedshop.com and take a glance at the rad fan and shroud setup they have.
Although personally do not think it is as powerful as what you can achieve with the Villager or Taurus or Fiero fan setup it is very appealing to the eye.

I don't drive in the rain most of the time, but when I do, I've never had a problem with water getting on my filter. I do inject water into the intake by means of cooling mist water injection system.

You could get the Godspeed radiator. Pretty sure it is a just Chinese knock off of the Koyo N-flow. I picked one up off Ebay for 180 shipped. Looks nice. Fit fine other than the lower rad hose and heater hose needed to be shortened. I have an E-fan. The Permacool finger chopper.

P.S. Oh and I had to add washers for spacers under the brackets when I mounted them to the tanks so they wouldn't contact the tanks. Don't know if others do this but the mounting tabs were too short on the rad. I recieved.

Call me silly but I am hoping to stay with Koyo. I know it sounds materialistic but the last time I decided not to go with my actual wish I ended up regretting it. Instead of getting a set of Tein Coilovers I went with Tokico Illumina shocks and Ground Control springs. I paid about half of a set of Teins, however, even though it rides really great, I cannot go as low as I want :/ Plus I have noticed OEM parts seemed to be Koyo around the car which is kinda cool. I am very new to modding cars. If you go through my page you can see my build thread. But I just found an NFlow for 330 shipped. I think I may bite the bullet. Grab a villager fan and possibly a new temp sensor and I have a few offers for s5 brackets. If it sits me under 450 I will be happy.

I understand. I originally wanted a Koyo but after sinking so much in my rebuild only to find my radiator now leaking I rolled the dice on the Godspeed. Plus most of the opinions on it are good. If you got the money for the Koyo I can't fault you for getting what you want.

Yeah I strongly considered the Godspeed. It's reputable it seems. A but ton of people on here have them. But like I said I don't know why, but koyo had my cards

Picked up an N Flow brand new for 315 shipped!. NOW I was going to buy some S5 brackets. however, I have 2 parts cars with radiators installed so I am going to try my luck at installing with S4 brackets. Anyone have or know of a walk through? also is the villager fan off of a 98 or 99? everyone says late model but 98 and 99 are different exteriors i am not sure of mechanics of them
