Hey guys and gals, I am looking for help for a buddy. I knew the place to come is a RX-7 club.
My buddy just bought a 89 RX-7 with the 13B motor (injected is a 13B right?) When you push the clutch in, you can actually SEE the crank (or whatever it's called) move foreward 1/4 inch! What's the prognosis? I apreciete it a ton. I'm a real Jeep freak, so if anyone here has any Jeep related questions now or later, please e-mail me.

Maybe it needs some new U-Joints. It could also just be normal because I know next to nothing about the transmissions in these things, tho I know plenty about the motors.

 

The people in the 2nd gen forum may be able to help you out better on this one ... moving there so it doesn't just get lost here in the lounge

13 = 1.3 liter engine. All the 2nd gens are fuel injected.

More detail would be good. It's not clear what you are seeing move. Where is it?

 

It sounds like you are describing end play in the excentric shaft.
That is not good.
