newb short shift question.

hey I got a question. I was looking at higi's short shifter and was wondering how that thing stays in there without the circular metal piece that screws the shifter down.

The metal circular ring holds it down like all my C's short shifter. It's supposed to be included. They're shown in his pics.

I don't understand what you are talking about. It screws in just the same way as any other shifter?

How are you missing it? It's laying right next to the shifter. :-/

I'm so nice I even took it apart to show you.

Did you put in the other spacer on the bottom? The smaller one I pictured above? Also did you lock the shifter in the hook at the bottom of the shifter assembly?

That m513 thing is part of my C's shifter.

First take out stock shifter. Second grab the small spacer (shown above) and put it in with the groove face down to fit over the nub in the stock assembly. Next grab the short shifter rod and put the spacer with the 3 threaded holes to the middle of the rod. The bigger spacer (with 3 holes) should have the nub closer to the top so it locks into the groove in the short shifter rod. Jam the shifter into the assembly so the ball at the end gets hooked with the hook/clip at the bottom of the shifter assembly. You'll feel it go in. Finally rotate the bigger spacer to line up the holes and bolt them up. Hope that makes sense.

No but it still sits really high. I want it to sit like 1-2 inches lower but I dont want to hack the shifter. The shifts are definately shorter but it still sits so freaking high.

if u make it any shorter it will be harder for you to engange the shifter as the force required will greatly increase coause u will bring the action(force) to close to the fulcrum and load
