New starter,wont start

i recently had bought my 7 and noticed that my crank would get longer each time i start the car. so last night my car would not start at all. the best i got was a bunch of clicks and a buzzing sound........then today i replaced the starter, charged the battery and tried to start it. when i turn the key the warning lights come on but nothing happens with the starter, kind of sounds like i get one click but it wont crank.did i install the starter incorrectly?? this is getting fustrating.i had the same problem with my last car, but i just got rid of it.

please help.thanks

Assuming your battery is fully charged as you indicate, the problem may be loose connections like battery to starter, battery to ground. Could also be a failing ignition switch or starter solenoid. Check the battery to starter, and battery to ground connections to make sure they are properly installed according to the factory service manual.
