err eibach pro-kits are not coil overs dude. coil overs include a threaded metal piece that sits at in the shock's seat where the spring usually does and the ride height can be adjusted by spinning the nut on the threads to compress/uncompress the springs etc.

edit: like this thingy

oh and i think kyb agx's are good bang for the buck, they're on my car .

I just did AGX and Suspension Technique springs.. it's a pretty sweet combo for less than $600.00 shipped.

If you want coilovers, I recommend K2RD, check out their selection at http://www.nopistons.com/store/catal...619b4994d28546 as K2RD's site is still under construction.

I agree with Jerry. They are the ones I was going to go with.

Where did you get these? I want new shocks/springs to replace my stock ones that should be wearing out soon.

www.shox.com has some of the best prices around on springs and the AGX's are listed at www.k2rd.com at 410 i think.

as for why the k2rd coil overs are so "cheap" from that site, they sell the fronts and rears seperately, and don't include shocks in the price.

Yes, but the front and rear separately still only adds up to $360, which is $40 less than GC. The camber plates are also almost $40 cheaper than GC.

The K2RD kit does include springs, and (shh!) the NoPistons store has the AGXs for $399!

If it includes springs, they must not be a very good quality set of suspension... -- Do I need camber plates or can I just use the stock ones?

You don't need camber plates. You also don't even need coilovers, we're just throwing out options.

Answer these questions to yourself - Do I need to be able to adjust ride height? Do I need to cornerweight and balance the car? Do I want to adjust camber from street settings to autocross/track settings?

If the answer was no to all of them, don't bother with any of the coilover setups. Get yourself a nice set of shocks and a nice set of springs. It will be an improvement over stock and handle quite well.

Good luck,
Jerry

Can anyone comment on the quality of the KYB's as opposed to say Tokico's or Koni's? A friend of mine with the AGX's thinks he has a leak in one after maybe 2 years of normal use.

Thanks Jerry-- I do love Autocross... so I might want to adjust ride hight... however I don't want to mess with the camber angle, simply because I don't want to wear down my tires for a little faster time. The Eibach Pro-kit springs lower it .8 inches, is this a good ammount or should a go a bit lower?

ya know what, it won't matter, considering I can adjust the ride height by the shocks!! Forgive me for my stupidity...

Unless I'm mistaken, you can't change ride height with the shocks unless you have a coilover setup. The prokit springs won't let you adjust ride height, even with the AGX's

KYB AGX's are SHOCKS. They are tubes filled with gas that absorb the impact on your suspension which can soften/stiffen the feel of your car. They sit in the center of your springs.

AGX's are like any other shock absorber in this respect. One difference is that they are Adjustable, meaning that you can make them stiffer or softer via a dial located on the shock. there is a Seat (looks like a little saucer/dish) welded to the shock itsef that the spring sits on.

AGX shocks are NOT coil overs. A coil over setup refers to a shock/spring combination that has a Threaded metal piece to sit in the shock's Seat, instead of the spring sitting in it. The Spring instead sits on top of a large Nut that is on the threaded piece. The nut can be spun to raise/lower the height of the Vehicle ride. This has Nothing to do with the brand of shock you choose to use as a coil over setup can be used with any Strut of this type.

These are plain KYB AGX shocks. Just shocks. No Springs. No Coil overs.
