Check the connection to the back of the alternator. If the wires are crossed it would prevent the engine from turning off. The Black/White wire in the plug is supposed to be on top of the White/Black wire. The Main Relay could be stuck closed too. And if the 15 amp Engine fuse was being back fed by the Battery Buss fuses that too would cause the engine to continue to run. So pull the 60 amp BTN fuse in the Engine fuse box and see if it causes the engine to turn off. If not then check the wires to the alternator and if they are hooked up right give it a look over to see if either wire is grounded out by accident. Then if that doesn't help then remove the four wire plug to the Main Relay and jumper the Black/Green wire to the Black/Yellow wire and the Black/White wire to the White/Blue wire and start the car and then try to turn it off. If that doesn't work then perhaps the Ignition Switch is the cause. Below the dash on the steering column there are a series of plugs which connect the switch to the Front harness. One plug houses two wires that are Black and a Black/White wire. W/the key to off, the B/W wire should not have voltage.
