Yea the center inlet goes into the block not the oil pipe. The secondary holes in the filter pedestal go to the front cover.

okay ... i just saw your profile. your car is an '84 - with the beehive, i presume? now your post makes a little more sense ... you were saying you were pulling the oil pipe at the rear of the beehive and putting down that?

No I was putting oil down the center of the beehive cooler but the center goes to the block and not the front
