New rebuild. No iddle
I have search this but didn't find a case that was close to my own. I have a 90 T2 with a fresh street port and cermenint B houseing rebuild. Now since I am a fairly poor mechanic I did what I could when the engine got back to me but felt more comfurtable with someone else buttoning it up and placeing it in the engine and makeing sure everything is set properly. Now the mechanic is very familer with rotories hes an ex mazda tech who builds and races rotarys. Now the engine started great and everything checked out, but their is NO iddle. The car just wont run under 2K rpm. Hes been working on this problem for almost 3 weeks now and we are both getting very frustrated. He has checked everything. Replaced a few suspect things and nothings better. I was wondering if anyone could give some more ideas. Fresh ideas are never a bad thing. Could it just not have built enough compression to iddle yet? Or could I have a bad engine? Any help is great. Thanks alot guys.

The idle speed controle just sets the idle yes? If its not being reved to 2K it wont idle. Are you saying it could be set so low it just wont idle? and I am pretty sure it is plugged in.

A compression test is tomorow and what is a coolant test? Make sure the water jackets haven't been breached and are leaking into the engine? Doesn't that usually cause white smoke? The car runs fine if its being reved past 2K, it just will not sit and idle like a good girl. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Every new idea helps.

check the turbo inlet duct and make sure that the vac hose thats goes between it and bov is conected. If it isnt block it with tape or something. I had the same problem and thats all it was.
A small vac hose that had blown off. I'd love to know if this helps you out

Yeah if thats the case I would be happy as hell. I was looking through my FSM and it said that poor idle could be from warped housings. Now I am all paraniod that mabey something got into my UIM or something even though they were covered. Damn cars got me sketching out.
