new rad help *pics*

OK, I got this radiator.. and its for my year but it dosnt seem to match up. If you look at the first pic the radiator shows mounting holes on the side of the rad. and the second pic in my car, bolts go in straight threw, not sideways. Is there some sort of mounting brackets I need or somthing for this? Because I just dont understand it. oh and the third pic is my old leaky rad, that looks way diffrent.. but yet fits..?

Your new rad is missing the mounting brackets on the sides. Take them off your old rad, and put them on the new one.

I actually believe it is more of a solder then weld, try hitting it with a soldering iron and pulling it off. If this is wrong someone feel free to correct me.

I used a high-strength 2-stage Epoxy last time I did that, worked well. I suppose JB weld or something similar may work also, just make sure the 2 surfaces are very clean, sand them off to bare metal,no dirt, etc..

I managed to just put the brackets on the car, then slide the rad in place... few hits and bumps. its stuck in place!

Um that new rad seems really thin, is it a two row? Cuz it looks like one. I'd hate for you to loose an engine because the rad was ineffecient.

its the stock rad for 89-92, it looks thin because it has no brackets on it in the pic

That rad you pulled out is for a 86-88 and it is not a stock one. it has been replaced before....

the stock ones have bolt on brackets. and the 89-91 ones have bolt on filler necks.

you need both of these to put your new rad in. and you don't have either... you are pretty screwed. you will have to try to find a cheap or free stock damaged rad to take the brackets and filler neck off of.
