New Q. P/S Switch...How Important?

Here's another question:

I have tested the Power Steering switch per the Haynes manual, and there is no conductivity with the wheel in any position.
So, the question is...how big a deal is a non-functioning PS switch?
Does it just add more idle when the wheel is turned so as not to kill the engine with the extra load?

when i got my first rx7 about 5 years ago i didnt even have any fluid in it for a while, never seemed like it was out and never made any noise. I have heard something about a difference in the rack between the s4 and s5 but thats as far as my knowledge goes. Right now on my S5 the wire is broke and it doesnt change anything that i can notice

Correct. It opens the Air Supply Valve via the Power Steering Relay.

Thanks NZ. I'll worry about it later.

Not a safety of flight issue, as long as it doest kill the motor.

Nope. I did, however, notice that when I was testing it per the Haynes instructions that the idle speed dipped slightly as I moved the steering wheel from stop to stop. Obviously what a functioning switch counteracts.
