eh, no its not.

if you want to pay 60 bucks for acheiving the broken headlight look while a 2 dollar switch will do the same exact thing, by all means go ahead.

Depends on how high you want it to go up. If it only goes up 1", then yes, it will look broken. But if it goes up 1/2 or 3/4, the who the hell would ever even notice. Like I said, if you did a headlight conversion, this would be just the tool you'd need. You dial in how high you want it to go up and when you hit the headlight switch it'll go up that high everytime and retract fully when the lights are off. So for performance you can have the lights go up 1/2 and try to cut down the Cd increase from the lights being fully up

I can't understand why people think it makes the car look more agressive (it doesn't, not even close) and then call them "sleepy eyes"? WTF? It doesn't look sleepy either, it just looks broken!

That's the best laugh I've had all week Zach. Thanks

This would look cool ONLY if you had special headlights that were lower profile and thus would look silly if they werent partly retracted when up. Otherwise.....kinda dumb...

I did it on my 1st gen, I like it (obviously). Just putting a momentary switch in the "headlight up" circuit from the console switch, switching to "up" then pulsing the momentary will move them upwards but mean that when you turn on the headlights they will still pop up full height and then stay full up when the lights are off.

Or a little more fiddling will have the headlights stay "sleepy" when the lights are on, but still pop up to full height at the flick of a switch. (eg when police arrive...)

Dunno if 1st and 2nd gen wiring is similar - I have written instructions on how to do it.

Each to their own, my wife doesn't like it.

So do I, but I'm not a cheapass, and I'd rather pay for the convience of not having to manually adjust it everytime.

That's a pretty cool little device. I still prefer the $2 switch (though it is a high amp circuit so it might take more than those puny ones).

As for why people do it, it's just like any light mod. Personally, I do like it quite a bit and have installed that switch on every car where I've been messing with the wiring at all. For those who think it's stupid, shut up. I think rolling around with fog lights on or parking lights (especially parking lights) is ridiculous, but people will continue to do it because they like it. Just the same as I like how it looks when you can see the top of my headlights and my FTP's are illuminated. Though now I'm starting to just turn the lights on with the lids all the way down as I'm sick of dealing with that switch

I am a cheapass, and if flipping the power switch to off after flipping your headlights down is considered manually adjusting.. yeah.

I'm sorry, I have to drive around with my parking lights on, and sunroof open. all the time. I do want my FTP illuminated all the time too but don't feel like screwing around with the wiring. I think i need to get my car running first anyways.
