Okay boys, put aside all your tech speak and help a girl out here. I was lucky enough to purchase a 87rx7 turbo this weekend without realizing what I was getting into. After helping the SO clean and put the motor together last night I realized I am truly in love........ I am looking for a forum/group where I can share my good fortune but not irritate the life out of everyone because 1. I am a girl, 2. I don't know motors, 3. I am not looking to race it. Directions please..........

No offense, but I am not sure what your question is. When I bought my 88 n/a last summer I did not know much about rx7s. I have been looking and reading on this forum since about October. You can learn most of your answers from just reading all the post here. There are a ton of people who know their info and as long as you ask them nicely, or dont ask stupid rice questions:P, you will learn everything you need to know.
Have a good time, good luck with you new car.

Well thought comments and intellectual discourse is not only the goal on RX7CLUB.COM but is the norm. Men and women alike, with varying degrees of Mazda knowledge, share their interests, problems, and solutions on a variety of topics every day. My advice is to take time and become familiar with the entire web-site and ease you way into the RX-7CLUB.COM family.

Welcome aboard!!

You will learn the tech speak in due time.

Directions:

1) If you go to your "User Profile", you can add a "Signature". If you like, you can type your car's year, trim (TurboII), and a brief list of modifications or other significant information so that you don't need to type it manually every time you post a question. I see that you have already added your state, which is a great help. Insignificant information can be fun, too. :)

2) Please try to formulate a brief descriptive title for your threads. Titles like "need help", "question", etc., usually get overlooked, especially by the "smarter" people on this forum who don't have the time to waste reading every thread.

3) Please don't type any forum member's name in the title of your threads in an attempt to get their attention. We have a Private Message (PM) system for this. If you would like to converse with a particular person, then simply send them PM. If you would like a particluar person to read one of your posts, then send them PM and a link so that they can read it.

4) Post your intent along with your questions. "I am not looking to race it" is an excellent example.

5) Use the Search function before posting. Many subjects have been covered already, and you may be able to quickly research information in just a few minutes.

6) I don't see what being female has to do with anything, unless maybe if you like posting in the Lounge. The car is still the same whether you are male or female. Also, the last time I checked, blueprints of the rotary engine were not encoded in either the X or Y chromosome, so that makes us all students. ;)

7) Don't take anything on this forum personally.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I know my post was vague, I was just looking to "connect" with others.

welcome to the mazda world. If there is anything that you must do consistently to maintain the life of your engine, it is to change the oil within 3000 miles. I would consider checking the oil every weekend until you find out how much it drinks so you can keep it topped off.
