hey everybody, i am new to this website but not new to RX7s. I currently own a 10th anniversary RX7 and previously owned an '84 GSL. I have a question that im sure has been asked before so send me to a previous post if you have to.

My Turbo 2 is on its second engine, and after alot of problem solving from the previous owner, i have gotten this car to the point where it runs really well. however, it does this wierd thing when ascending through the RPM's. if i keep my foot out of it, i.e. drive sensibly, at about 3000 rpms the engine kinda halts and shivers till i get to 3500 rpms. because it does it at the same approximate spot in the rpms, it makes me wonder if this is something that is not terribly serious. i have been told that its the secondary fuel injectors kicking in, but i cannot imagine that mazda would have put it out to the public with such a very noticable problem. if im driving it hard though, it doesnt miss a beat and moves right through the rpms very smoothly. if anybody knows what this is i would really appreciate the info.

thanks a ton

Very common problem. Usually caused by old/missing grounds. There is a regrounding thread in the 2nd gen archives, check it out.

now that you mention it, at 3,000.....it could be a dirty injector, or even a clogged cat.

that garbage doesn't work..... send them out to cruzin performance, its only $12 an injector, and unlike the fuel additive,it works.

well it couldnt be a cat... i have a full racing beat exaust on it... when the new engine was put in, they only replaced two of the injectors... they said that they left the two that were most easily accesible for us to eventually change out... but we have yet to change them out

i will check the grounds though, thanks for the advice
