New kid in town
Hey everyone, just wanna let ya know i finally got a Rx7. I wanted a 10th Ae or a third gen but couldnt find on in my price range. I got a white on blue turbo II. I got it for 3,400 With 80k on a rebuilt. So i think i got a deal on it. I want you guys to tell me what a rx-7 owner should know. People tell me it has a cooling problem and i should get an aftermarket alumium radiator with electric fan. What else is there i should know. Thanks for the help.

Well....I'm not aware of there being any coolant problems, unless there's actually a problem somewhere...wait till Icemark gets online, he'll let ya know...him or some of the other people...all just depends on who gets to the thread first, lol
I'd tell ya, but knowing my luck, I'd screw something up and then I'd have Icemark jumping down my throat for spreading misinformation, so I'll just shut up...

You're going to get raped for wanting an electric fan.
All the big shots are against it, but its an excellent mod should it be done right.
Make sure you have a higher amperage alternator and properly install and wire a good electric fan. Then you shouldn't have any problems.
They don't really have a cooling problem, it's that they have problems when they overheat (they can't take it).
You have to be on top of your cooling system at all times. Just overheating once could mean death to some of the engine's seals.
I would start with a cooling system flush and thermostat change. ALWAYS use a Mazda OEM thermostat. NEVER go aftermarket. Get one at your Mazda dealer. Don't listen to any auto zone salesmen or anything that an aftermarket one is just fine..
