New Issue
Well I searched and didn't find anything, now the problem with my car now is a strange oil leak somewhere I guess, After I get done driving my car a little hard maybe like 5k shifting I get clouds of burnt oil coming from under my wheel weels, I don't know what the hell it could be. I replaced my oil cooler lines and I don't have exhaust leaks so it wouldn't be spouting from a hole in my exhaust line somewhere, I really don't know. I know my rear main seal is bad but that is waayyy away from the rear wheel well, anyone else had this problem? Could it be oil dripping from the rear main seal and burning off the exhaust somewhere? It's not the transmission seal either because it is not gear oil it is motor oil deffinetl...heelllppp
Are you sure it's oil? It's kind of odd that it would come out of both wheel wells and not from under the hood. I'm guessing your brakes are overheating. I had this happen to me after installing a new brake booster on my old Mazda 323. I took it for a drive after installing the new booster and it seemed great at first then the brakes just kept getting stiffer and stiffer. I went straight to AutoZone but, By the time I got there (about 10 minutes) I needed new pads, rotors, a caliper, AND another booster. I pulled up in front of the store and there was so much smoke coming from my front wheels it looked like the car was on fire LOL.
whoah...... I must have mis-understood. The smoke is coming from the REAR wheel wells? Is it both wheels wells or just one? There is no oil back there to burn unless you count diff fluid. Look at your brake rotors and see if they are discolored. If you see 1 discolored rotor it's probably a stuck caliper. If more than 1 you probably have a problem somewhere else in the system... maybe a clogged or kinked line or bad master cylinder? Anything that might cause excessive pressure on the rest of the system. If the brakes check out you may want to take it to a muffler shop and have the exhaust looked at, I've heard off mufflers getting clogged up with carbon before, they could be baking under there. The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is if something were spilled in the cargo area... MAYBE it could drip through somewhere on the exhaust but, that's probably a stretch.
