Are these sparkplugs GONE?

My first time getting the 7's plugs out, wasnt too bad for the Trailing (top?) rear one.

Had chunky stuff on it like grease mixed with dirt and oil like, I put water on it to see if it was just buildup but it still is all gross

Use a wire brush to clean it thoroughly. Then wipe it off real good with a rag or shop towel.

That's probably dielectric grease on the boots of the sparkplugs.

It keeps water out.

Plugs are 3.79 at the parts store. Not even worth the time trying to clean.

Well, I would get new ones... but it only takes maybe 5 minutes to wire brush all four plugs and wipe them off. Where as, if you were to get new ones, it would be a bit more time consuming and cost you money. If the plugs are bad though... get new ones.

This is my first time removing plugs on anycar....just curious how fouled up they are for future knowlage.

So are they salvagable or not?

Also should I change the wires? and what type of plugs are best

Ok really if you are going to clena them at least take a multimeter and read the resistance on each plug and make sure they are even worth keeping same goes for the wires.

if the center pin/ electrode is rounded and no longer has a sharp edge, then it needs to be replaced

seriously, just buy new plugs.. it'd be like you pull your spark plug wire out right, and somehow the wire got cut in half, and instead of spening 20 bucks on all new wires, you decide to make your own..

Just buy new spark plugs, they arnt very exspensive, theres only 4, and if you already have them out just save yourself time on having to pull them in another few thousand miles cause your not sure if they are good or not.

Thx Icemark, I guess you understand.

This isnt asking how/if i should clean them its asking
ARE THEY GOOD OR NOT

I need to know these things for future refrence, they're HORRIBLE rounded, the electrode. The first rotor leading is as tiny as .09 leadd

What are you cleaning with a wire brush? The only part of the plug that really needs to be cleaned is the center insulator (see red area in the attached image), and I can't imagine you can get down there with a wire brush. Any crap on the metal parts of the plug is basically irrelevant to the proper functioning of a spark plug.

i just bought my 90 gtu and i changed the plugs just today and the person before me put the plugs in wrong. they put the leading on top and trailing on bottom. and when i replaced them and put them in the right way it ran really shitty for about 2 minutes, then it smoothed out.
