New Guy considering RX7

How's it going guys? Im cosidering buying a turbo 87 RX7, which I am going to check out tomorrow....... the guys from the supraforums (I own an n/a MK3) suggested I come here and ask u guys how they are for first time tuners and stuff..... the deal at a glance, is the turbo 87 RX7 with 123k, stick, and still need to see how well it has been maintained. Is that a good deal? Will it be worth it? Or too much trouble for someone who doesnt really know a whole lot about rotary engines? Could u guys please give me some feedback as soon as possible... thank you....

I am a first time tuner myself. I own an 87TII i love. It now has 139,000 miles on the chasis, but only 30000 on the motor. It also came with a new mazda clutch, starter, alt, and battery. It did have body damage but i only paid 2000 for it. Not a bad deal i thought. If it blew up today, i would not regret it. I would buy another one. I got it not knowing anything about rotaries and have learned alot, and continue to learn everyday. They are very fun, and i recomed buying it or one like it.

I think it'd be a great buy. Know matter what problem you come across, SOMEONE on this forum will know how to fix it or tell you who can...gotta love it!

185 stock hp. checking compression would be a good idea on a motor that has that many miles. It may have already been rebuilt.

Oil change every 2500 miles.
Normal stuff after that.

The dents and dings and problems it has is what gives it character and makes it fun to workon. They also have serious hp potential

Everybody is new to a rotary at one point. But be warned, once you go rotor you may never go back. Get that car, you wont regret it!
