just thought id introduce myself and say whats up.
i really like this forum and theres a lot of good information on it.
heres my story: name is Mike, have an 89 black GXL. motor blew at 83,000. rebuilt it in autotech class last year and did a few extras and now its runnin great. but it just sits in the garage most of the time since im off at college now. gonna try to transfer someplace closer to home so i can work on it more.

no no. not trying to transfer just to work on the car, wrote that a little wrong. many other reasons in there too, getting to work on the car is just a perk. i wouldnt want to bring it to school where i am now just b/c it would probably get broken into or somethin b/c of where i would have to park it. either that or it would break down or somethin.

yeah i rebuilt and ported it myself. recieved very little advice from my Master Tech shop instructor b/c all he likes are pontiacs and wanted nothing to do w/ my car. best part was that i kept gettin crap from the lower level students about gettin it done b/c a lot of time was spent waitin for parts and they didnt think id get it to run again. i showed them though

I bet you were surprised when you saw how few parts are in the motor.

you guys are right. it was a ton of fun. especially if its your first time doin a project like that. just take your time and make sure you go through everything real well is all i can really say. and labe all vacuums really well!!!
