Question New Clutch w/ throwout bearing noise?

I just had a new clutch replaced by a dealership a few weeks ago and it's making some ticking noise when it's idle. But if I depressed the clutch it will go away. Anyhow, I took it back to the dealership and they think it's the throwout bearing that is making this noise but they can't be sure. And the catch is, if they were to take the clutch apart which means they have to drop the trans and if the problem presist after they did all this and maybe replace w/ a new throwout bearing I will have to pay for the labor. Has anyone experienced this problem before where you put in a new clutch and getting this ticking noise? Do you guys think is the throwout bearing? or some screws they forgot to tight?

Thanks for the help..

Doug

You mean you didn't replace the T/O bearing when you pulled the clutch? I think you're going to be paying labor .. Always replace the T/O bearing, and carefully inspect the clutch fork when doing a clutch. You can get away with not pulling the pilot bearing if it doesn't have a lot of miles, but that's also something you should strongly consider getting replaced while you're in there.

I did replaced the T/O bearing when I replaced the clutch. Could this be a bad T/O bearing they put in?

Thanks,

Doug
