Exclamation new clutch problems

i just installed a new clutch in my car not even 500 miles ago, the car sometimes runs fine and pulls hard as hell, but other times the clutch slips under high acceleration and going down the high way my rpms go all the way up to 7500 in 5th at times, its making my car simply undrivable and unpredictable, did i **** something up? should i try bleeding it? help!

ummm make sure your foot is all the way off the clutch pedal, even the slightest touch can disengage them, if its not that. did you buy the clutch used? or maybe you even got grease on the clutch disk or pressure plate or flywheel.

maybe, your flywheel might be in need of a resurface, and there is still the posibilty of gettingsome grease on the clutch assembly when u put it back together, you can also adjust the clutch pedal thta might help

alrtie ill try adjusting the clutch tomorrow and see what happens, if not ill just break down and tear it back apart and then resurface the flywheel and make sure its spotless when i put it back in.

yes, but even if you dont its still not gonna slip, as long as your dont dump the clutch then your fine, but if you just mash the gas from a roll it whont hurt it

if you fly wheel isnt scratched up (meaning no need to resurfaces, should you still remove it and replace the pilot bearing, or can you leave it and just install the clutch and PP and new throw out bearing?

The part about your clutch slipping in 5th gear sounds similar to a problem I had. Mine was doing the same thing, and it turned out to be the clutch slave cylinder. I put on a new one ($25) and it's been fine for 3 years now. Curiously, when I took the old one apart, it had nothing obviously wrong with it, but somehow it was hanging up and not allowing the clutch to fully engage.
