hey guys i have a 1990 rx7, turboes, RHD, 98,000km on it... i was leaving my buddies house just a few min ago, i started my car and put my seat belt on... then i noticed that shes shuttering a lil, the tach fluctuates a lil bit goes from idling at 800rpm down to bout 650rpm and back up again... almost like its idling a lil too low, but im not sure... but it only does it from time to time... i shrugged it off and backed outta my parking spot, then i looked through my passenger window and saw a small cloud of white smoke... now it wasnt a whole lot but every time i gave it some gas she let off some white smoke... ne ideas what goin on?? ne idea at all?? please give me good news.. lol i just got it and i would hate to have to rebuild.. thx guys

 

The smoke smell sweet? Sound like you've lost a coolant seal.

 

the idle thing is normal, but the white smoke is sign of trouble. what did it smell like?

 

Yeah mine will hiccup on me every couple of weeks or so, just a little rpm blip. That isnt too much to worry about. However, i'd definitely check your coolant level to see if your losing any.

 

alright thx guys... no it doesnt have a smell really... i unno how to explain it, but no it doesnt smelll like coolant, i know what coolant smells like.. lol kinda like maple syrup.... burning coolant makes me want waffles.. lmfao
