new 1990 gtu
Well, I just picked up a prime GTU- it was in good shape, and the price was fair..
However, I found a couple of flaws.
I realized that when I put on the parking lights with out the headlights on- that my headlights flip up-down-up-down, all on there own until I turn the dim lights all the way down. What would cause this? and how could I fix it?
Also- it has the factory s5 foglights, and has the interior switch, My other fc doesnt have these- so I have never touched these before- I dont want to blow them, I checked the fuse ( lights/ fog specific) it was good- do he switches go out, or is there a common issue?
Thank you for your time,
JC

I have no idea about the headlights, start by checking the motor and working your way back to the switch. never seen this.
the foglights come on when the headlights are on. If you flip them on without the headlights I don't think they come on at all. The switches and contacts CAN go bad over time so if you're doing everything right then you need to check the FOG lights themselves and work your way back to the switch.
You have the FSM?

Yea, that's a new headlight problem scenario that I've never seen before, and I've scoured this forum, because I'm having a tough headlight problem too.
The FSM chassis electrical section will help you remove and test out the parts though, if it looks like the switch is the problem.
It's either the wiring, the headlight relay(s), the cluster switch, or the CPU. Process of elimination to figure out the cause.
