Attaching a picture... can't figure out what it's for or where it's supposed to come out from under the intake manifold from... if it's not supposed to be coming out this side then I screwed up and will have to reroute it somehow. But I can't find a mating plug anywhere?

hahaha i knew you were asking that question about that damn plug.. id say no where i NEVER figured it out on my s5 i just found the plug end in the driveway but dont take my word for it. if you look at it it looks like to dirty to ever be plugged into anything.... disregard i thought that was your body (the red part) it may be the O2 the only one wire device i can think of next to the knock sensor

looks like it goes into the alternator behind it.
but the connector housing looks like it belongs somewhere around the airfilter area, all them little connections.

I have never seen that plug before but then again I have a s5 tII. The plug on the back of my alternator is rectangular. My o2 sensor wire is not shaped like that. Is your car running? Check the codes maybe?

Hmmm O2 sensor is a good guess, let me go check real quick!
I haven't installed the cat an exhaust so that'd explain why I didn't see anything for it to run to.. brb.
EDIT: Scratch that, I did install the DP and that's where the o2 sensor is.... it's a smaller black plug, has a mounting point and is already connected.
It's not for the alternator, alternator plug is much larger and squarish... and white. heh
Guessing game back on.. lol

S4 O2 sensor plugs are different, I remember seeing that plug the other day. I noticed it because it looks like the FCON pressure sensor plug. I'll check tomarrow at work (it's raining really hard and I don't have covered parking).

Let me go check on the rich-lean pot... where is that if I can't find it in a diagram? And if it looks like the FCON pressure plug could it BE that plug? heh, it is possible for it to come out on either the front side, where it is, or the back side of the engine... from under the UIM.
Oh and I solved a nice problem of mine, couldn't figure out where a T split in an vaccum hose behind the UIM went... well, the reason I couldn't figure that out was easy... it didn't go ANYWHERE when there's no cruise control unit in this car. ;D lol So at least EVERY vaccum line is now accounted for.

It looks like a Kouki water temp sensor plug.
It ends up behind the alternator, right?
Not all Kouki FC's come with this sensor back there, and yours might not have this extra sensor.
I don't think it's the O2 sensor plug, cause that one has a yellow center.
If you trace the plug back, you should run into shielding if it were the O2 sensor wire - that plug doesn't look like that.

I only saw one place to make a connection... the weird square green clip-plug that I couldn't figure out how to remove and almost tried to unscrew from the water pump. -_- So I made that one and moved on.
What would the other sensor look like if I had it?

It needs to be an S5.
It sounds like you don't have this optional sensor, so I would ignore the plug.
The sensor is either black or gray.
The main thermo sensor for the ECU is green - which has it's own green plug.

Yeah, looking at some pictures of when I took things apart... it almsot looks like it was pugged into something but it's just deceptive placement of where it is in all the pictures and how the plug is shaped... it was never connected to anything.
Well, that's another one down. =)
Thanks, especially biscuit and RETed
Damn thunderstorms needs to go away now so I can get back to work. =(

Typically, it's not something I would normally would have known, but since I JUST worked on one, it's fresh in my mind.
The sensor would be inches away from the main green watrer thermo one, right in back of the water pump housing.
If you don't have that extra sensor, it would just drive you crazy!

That's defintely the plug for the temp switch that operates the optional auxiliary e-fan. If you have the fan then the switch will be sitting on the back of the water pump next to the ECU's thermosensor. No fan = no switch = spare plug.

Rain coming down... needle nose pliers grasping that plug (it's sandwhiched between the alt and the UIM), other hand trying desperately to somehow jam the P/S pressure sensor plug, that I broke off trying to remove the sensor itself, into that plug somehow. I spent at least a couple minutes trying too! If that's not crazy I dunno what is! haha
