Never seen.... spark plugs with so much fuel.....

on them...

Well, with trying to fix Racer_13b's car... we've gone through 3 sets of spark plugs. The new ones are in there right now after we had unflooded the car for the 5th time.

Short rundown:

We got the car started last week sometime after a year it had not been running. It ran for a good whole 30 mins, after us driving it around for a while... and then BAM! It just stopped. The RPMS went from 0-9k rpm (rev limiter on this car is 8.8krpm) and back down to 0...then the car had shut itself off... and wouldn't start after that.

So.. since sometime in the middle of last week, up until now... we've been trying everything to get this car started. You can hear the car wanting to start... but it just.. won't go.

Here's a therad on the EMS help I'm really needing on.... but most people don't know this EMS .. since it's very old school.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=255888

Well, the point of the thread is.. I guess.. to show some off-hand pictures.

Here are the spark plugs:

One of them.. to where you can see the fuel on them...

here's the engine bay....

rear end..

Yeah.. that's it for now.... We're going to try and push-start her again, and see if that'll work. It doesn't like to start when it's cold anyway, but... I don't know. I wish we could figure out what IS wrong, or if anyone knows what's wrong.

because.. i'm going insane. I can't think of anything else.. on what to do to fix this problem..?

Use a vac pump to check if the FPR is working ok, and if the car hadn't been driven in a year the injectors might be stuck open..and bad tank of gas is a big no no for us..but!! i'm sleepy i might be blowing air...Zzzzz

Thanks for the reply...

before we had gotten it running for the first time.. we had gotten a new tank of gas (it was empty from the start), new oil, coolant, battery, etc. So it's good in that section.

I'll mention that to him tomorrow, and see if we can do that.

Do you think the injections would be stuck open? I mean.. it had ran fine, when it did run that 30 mins... Is that why it keeps flooding like it is? Does this mean that he would have to get new injectors?

Thanks for the replies all

Well there is a few reason that u will have too much gas in there and A wide open injectors is 1 of them bad FPR is another.. I think u didn't mention compression!!! check that as well..then let us know.
new or rebuilt injectors is the way too go it depend on ur budget ( or his for that matter) RC run about $24 per injector with print out report of b4 and after rebuilt. C

The compression is fine. We had heard it when the spark plugs were out, and we were unflooding the motor.

I'll let you guys know tomorrow about the FPR. Thanks a bunch.
