Finally got to drive the car today and this damn clutch(stage 3) slips like a bitch. My rpms would just shoot up when boost hits but my car does not move any faster. Like I said my old worn out clutch grabbed harder and never slipped. What a freaking waste of time and money. Now I have to pull the damn tranny out again just so I can swap out the clutch. Unless this is suppose to get better when broken in?

thats what I was about to bitch at you for. You can't just through a clutch in without some sort of break in and expect it to work correctly. break that thing in correctly. Are you making over 350rwhp? Because if your not then you shouldn't be slipping. My clutch was fine till around 350 and really at that level it still didn't slip unless I was putting a huge hurting on it.

Not on an RX7, but I had a customer experience with XTD clutches that was gayer then aids.
1) XTD Stage 1 clutch, I installed it, had the flywheel resurfaced and did the intial clutch break in. The car was a 1991 DSM TSI, intake/exhaust.
It eventually failed after 1800 miles.
2) Car came back and he talked XTD into the warranty and they send him a stage 3. I install it, proper break in, and finally give it to him.
It started to slip after 1000 miles.
3) Got the car back and removed the next clutch. We used the sprung hub disk from the stage 3 and used the pressure plate from the stage 4.
So far it has worked.
But keep in mind his intial $150 purchase turned out to be close to a grand after paying me $250 a pop to replace it.
$900 in parts and labor, he could of bought a nice ACT and would of saved me some time so I didn't have to touch a DSM.
XTD's are ****. Save a little extra and buy something worth a ****.

i used an XTD stage 3 on my N/A not one problem what so ever, i been wondering if people that used XTD and had problems used there cluth on a T2, maybe it cant handle the power and also do people clean and prep the clutch before they put in? or do they just take it out of the box put and put it in without cleaning of exes oils or dirt that could be on it.

My car won't read past 510whp on the dyno with my xtd stage 3 it slips in 3rd and 4th gear but I've had it for over 6 years now same clutch drifting abuse.. Clutch was fine in the 400-450whp range..
Now I'm using a centerforce dual friction clutch and gt45 turbo setup.. Car won't read past 430whp on the dyno jet.. it just slips ... At the track she slips 3rd gear and 4th load drifts.. I must say the 6year old xtd stage 3 held more Hp!!
Time for a act clutch
