ok two thing but first things first. N/A 1987 automatic
ok i have posted previously, about my starter going out. i replace it and also got a new battery. when i put the new stuff on and started the car , the car sence has been stuck in overdrive. i can hit the button an nothing happens. i took the shifter off wtih the button and rigged up a other button and used it but it still would not shift out of overdrive. put a voltmeter on it to see if there was elec. going through and there was . i could hold the button in and i could see current going through if i let go of the buttton , the circuit was broken and if read zero. so i know there is power going to the button an such.
now anyone know what else i can do? i know i know get a 5 sp. besides that , anyone ever have this prob? there isnt a fuse that im aware of that could cause this but im sure if there was it wouldget power in the button.
next, when i purchased the car from a mazda mechanic locally here , he told me the rotary had only 3 mile on it. he showed me the receit it totaled 2000 bucks. now having said that, do you think it cam with a new pulsation damper ? or do i need to worry/ replace it ? i figure new engine means new parts including it.
thanks for any input you all can give . thanks .

I doubt it came with a new pulsation damepener if it was rebuilt. Look at it and see if it looks news. Does the little yellow cap looks like its 17 years old?
I would just put in a banjo bolt anyways... but that's me.
