Need tips on TII

Hey I'm planning on buying a 87 TII ( giving up on my N/A). N E ways I have no experience with the TII so what are some things I should be looking for on this car?

I already know I should check the compression (obviously) and the plugs and fluids. But how do I know that the turbo is still in good order? and what not.
also is there another way to tell if the apex seals are still good w/o checking the comp (I don't have access to the tools)

thanks.

as far as checking the turbos condition, make sure it has barely any shaft play. take the intake off and try to push the compressor wheel up/down and in/out. a little bit is acceptable but it shouldnt be loose.

I believe you can take off the i/c and see if there is any oil residue inside. Make sure you check to see if its leaking anything and that it doesn't overheat.
