Need thicker exhaust gaskets...

Title pretty much says it all, I need exhaust gaskets for my main cat that are thick. The ones I'm using are new Felpros (IIRC) and they are still letting exhaust gasses leak by. I've checked Mazdatrix, but I really don't think the ones they show are going to cut it. Also, I've cranked down on the exhaust nuts about all I feel safe doing without stripping the threads out. Any tips are very appreciated. Thank you.

-Lucas.

Will that work okay? I'm just worried that with 2 It'll be more likely to blow.

FWIW, I used the Fel-pro's for a while and they always start to leak within a few thousand miles. I have had luck with the Racing Beat gaskets. They are pretty thick too.

whenever i am putting on new exhaust gaskets i usually also use some high-temp copper silicone RTV, it helps to fill in little gaps if there are any. any large gaps though it won't do much for sealing.

I only use racing beat gaskets, they seem to be very high quality.

I was contemplating just slathering my fel's with copper seal, but I didn't know, lol. I might look into some RB's once I get the $$$, but Fel's will work for now.

Sideways7, hows it goin man?

^That wouldn't work because I have an N/A and thus the 2 bolt flange. Also, I have lock washers on all the nuts so I don't really think its vibrating loose.

its alright, live and learn i guess..at least it didnt happen while i was in atlanta and id have to listen the that loud *** brap brap brap with hardly no boost response and deal with people looking at me and thinking what a p.o.s for 7 hours going home feeling like crap...I shouldve known though, the gaskets were like shiny peices of cardboard. Didnt feel that sturdy at all.

^LOL, they probably just took peices of cardboard, colored all over them with a pencil, and called it a day.

What is the gasket I need for after the downpipe? I'm looking at Mazdatrix and I can't figure out which one it is?

The gaskets I got from Racing Beat were OEM IIRC, and they were pretty beefy.

I make mine from a layer of gasket material that I buy from the local auto parts. I buy the thick one and spray it with cooper spray gasket maker. I never have issues from leaks.

I had this same problem before I went to the racing beat setup... I used two of the bosal gaskets (they seem preaty stout) and the seal was good.. lasted me abotu 400 miles (did not fail but I changed my exhaust)

Felpro IMO has always been a lower quality product for some gaskets..
