Red face Need some opinions...

My girlfriends mother backed into my car the other night. One of those wonderful things about having a black car at night... I just went and got a quote to fix it.

$250

He will have to bang the dent out, fill in the cracks with bondo, and then paint the entire fender.

OR

For $250 I can buy a couple of new B-Magic front fenders with the 30mm flare from a local gentleman. Here is a picture of them:

The problem with taking my car to get fixed is that the other small dent that came with the car in the other fender will not get fixed.

The problem with buying the fenders is that I don't know if I'm gonna like the extra flare with the rims (16x7 S5 TII) and they are gel coated black. I'm not sure how that looks.

I'm kinda looking for your opinions on what I should do.

Can I run some spacers in the front to try and fill the void with the new fenders or is that unsafe?

Ideas? Comments?

Thanks,
Mason

30 mm increase is more than an inch... do you want your front fenders an inch wider???

Yeah that's the only problem. I can't quite fill that void with 16x7's. I think I would love the flair if I could only afford to fit something bigger underneath.

This is my daily driver and I don't really drive it hard except a couple times per day to hit redline. Would spacers be safe to use on a DD? I think a 25mm spacer would help fill the void enough to please me. What is a good company to get spacers from and would this be safe to do?

*edit* I did a quick search and came up with APR and H&R that make spacers and stud extensions.

Should I buy longer studs from summitracing and then get spacers off of Ebay? I def want to make sure I get hubcentric spacers. How do you tell if they are or not?

Maybe get some replacement stock fenders from a Pick-N-Pull, replace them yourself and try to get them painted to match your car with the left over money?

My opinion..... get the fenders.....

Reasons

1) you will want to buy aftermarket rims some day.... that extra 30mm will GREATLY improve your wheel/tire choices.. go sniff through the second gen fitment guid in the suspension section... you'll see what i mean

2) take a look at your rims... you'll notice that you can go out almost two inches in the rear..... and like 1/2 an inch in the front..... with those fenders, you'll be able to buy wheels that BOTH extend about 1 1/2 inch further than stock AND keep the same wheel track, thus helping to keep the car from PUSHING like mine does with the fat rears and not so fat fronts!!!!!

3) if you got dents to fix on BOTH sides.. might as well just get new fenders and be done with it..

4) new fenders will be MUCH easier to paint.. no bodywork.... you COULD have the fenders painted to match the car and then put then on the car..... but, the right thing to do is have the whole car sprayed, but now we are talking mo money
