I've done this before. It works REALLY well and give you LOTS of steering angle. So much steering angle, that you will NEED to cut and reweld/sleeve your tie rods cause you wont be able to get rid of all the toe out without doing that. I had a thread about the spindle mod writeup on Ziptied, which can be found here:
http://www.ziptied.com/forums/index.php?topic=8954.0
I plan on making another set in the future.
here's what I would do if I were you:
Buy a 2nd set of spindles so that you have a stock set and a modded set.
Then, go to the junkyard and sawzall off the part where the tie rod ends connect to.
So at this point you should have a set of intact spindles on the car, a set that you are ready to mod and some tie rod end pieces that you cut off another pair of spindles.
next, build a jig, like in the thread above.
weld up
paint
cut and resleeve tie rods
put it all together
enjoy your new steering angle
OR
you could just buy some sotaru spindles from japan....

I have an extra set of spindles and fc's are impossible to find in junkyards here. It looks like I would have to cut pretty far into the spindle to get the tie rod hole inline with the balljoint. I could grind down the new tie rod hole but it's cast iron and it could weaken the whole spindle.

The new hole has no taper to it, so you will be forced to use spherical bearing and havea normal nut and blt holding it in. You will alsowant the spherical bearing for the angles too

You can try that out. I know some people that downt relocate the spindle. They just take that tapered hole and drill that straight, and use a heim joint. They take more angle and abuse than the normal ball joint too
