Need some advice

i need some advice on a problem i have my car wont drive (88 GXL) car starts but will not go anywhere i was thinking something to do with the pressure plate but after replacing that i figured it wasnt i am thinking that it might be my diff i can shift into gears but car wont move and when jacked in the air the back left is the only tire that spins

check the rear axle/diff...sounds like one of the driveaxles is broken or its the differential assembly..did you do any work on it lately in that area?

also..in what direction does the left tire spin?

the left tire spins forward when in a forward gear and reverse in reverse but only one tire spins
